I thought we would be meeting with many doulas before hiring, but that was not necessary, we knew right away when we met Holly from Birthing Tree, that she was the "missing link". She brought a sense of calmness and wisdom from experience that empowered us to bring our child into the world in the way that we wanted. She believes in a woman's ability to know her own body and baby, I felt safe and taken care threw out my pregnancy and even after. After my pregnancy, she helped me with breastfeeding. I struggled a lot and wanted to give up many times, but she was right by my side encouraging me, and teaching me the proper way to get my daughter latched on. Thank you HollyYou will always be a special person to us. https://bit.ly/36srJmX

Caitlin was wonderful throughout my pregnancy and delivery. She answered so many questions and gave great advice and helped me prepare for labor. During labor she helped keep me calm and focused even when my birth plan went awry. Would definitely recommend The Birthing Tree https://bit.ly/2CRbTlM

Love this! ♥️♥️

Love this! ♥️♥️

A friend shared this and I really liked the lesson:

RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE.

When I was at one of my lowest (mental) points in life, I couldn’t get out of bed some days. I had no energy or motivation and was barely getting by.
I had therapy once per week, and on this particular week I didn’t have much to ‘bring’ to the session. He asked how my week was and I really had nothing to say.
“What are you struggling with?” he asked.
I gestured around me and said “I dunno man. Life.”
Not satisfied with my answer, he said “No, what exactly are you worried about right now? What feels overwhelming? When you go home after this session, what issue will be staring at you?”
I knew the answer, but it was so ridiculous that I didn’t want to say it.
I wanted to have something more substantial.
Something more profound.
But I didn’t.
So I told him, “Honestly? The dishes. It’s stupid, I know, but the more I look at them the more I CAN’T do them because I’ll have to scrub them before I put them in the dishwasher, because the dishwasher sucks, and I just can’t stand and scrub the dishes.”
I felt like an idiot even saying it.
What kind of grown ass woman is undone by a stack of dishes? There are people out there with *actual* problems, and I’m whining to my therapist about dishes?
But my therapist nodded in understanding and then said:

“RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE.”

I began to tell him that you’re not supposed to, but he stopped me.
“Why the hell aren’t you supposed to? If you don’t want to scrub the dishes and your dishwasher sucks, run it twice. Run it three times, who cares?! Rules do not exist, so stop giving yourself rules.”
It blew my mind in a way that I don’t think I can properly express.
That day, I went home and tossed my smelly dishes haphazardly into the dishwasher and ran it three times.
I felt like I had conquered a dragon.
The next day, I took a shower lying down.
A few days later. I folded my laundry and put them wherever the fuck they fit.
There were no longer arbitrary rules I had to follow, and it gave me the freedom to make accomplishments again.
Now that I’m in a healthier place, I rinse off my dishes and put them in the dishwasher properly. I shower standing up. I sort my laundry.

But at a time when living was a struggle instead of a blessing, I learned an incredibly important lesson:

THERE ARE NO RULES.
RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE!!!

I have now given birth twice with Holly and she's been nothing short of amazing both times. With my first birth she was so reassuring and calm when it seemed like everyone else wasn't. She was absolutely essential to helping me stay calm and focused. With my most recent birth, she was essential in helping me achieve the unmedicated birth I was dreaming of. She helped me with positions to get the baby in a better position, offered counter pressure through every contraction, an d reassurance that I could do it and was doing it. My husband was never left out either she would suggest positions that would involve him helping me and she even brought him breakfast when he forgot to eat before we went to the hospital. I can honestly say that I ENJOYED giving birth and Holly was 100 responsible in helping me have the amazing experience I had. I would never have a baby without hiring Holly https://bit.ly/35pmeS0

So wonderful and so supportive through my pregnancy, birth and after. Holly made my placenta encapsulation, butter and tinctures, they made my postpartum life so much better. It all eased the pain of my C-section better than any medicine. It helped tame my hormones also. Highly highly recommend this service and Holly for sure. Cant thank her enough for everything. https://bit.ly/2CRbTlM

Our family had the best experience with Holly and Caitlin. They were recommended to us because I was seeking advice on a VBAC. I successfully VBACd with Holly and Caitlin both by my side. My second birth was everything I could have ever hoped for. They made me feel empowered and like I could do anything. Thank you ladies for being apart of our birth story We love you https://bit.ly/35pmeS0

♥️♥️ Congratulations, Veach family! Such beautiful pictures Natalie Zepp Photography!

River’s birth with Pensacola midwife, Jenny Allen, at Baptist Hospital was my first in my new role as a doula. Parents who want both a photographer and a doula are often faced with a difficult choice. Both are a major investment. Megan + Ryan opted for a doula the first time around and, while nice

Doulas are the best
If you have doubts about having a doula or not having one, always say yes!! you wil never regreat it!

"Before you scroll on past with rolling eyes thinking this one is just for hippys, bear with me for 60 seconds. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
'Doula' is another one of those words, a but like 'hypnobirthing' that sounds a bit weird until you know what it really means! And (unless you're a big Gilmore Girls fan like me) you may not have come across doulas before.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Doulas nurture and support women either throughout labour and birth or in the postnatal period (or both!). As a non medical professional they are there to provide you with support (be that practical, physical, emotional, information providing or as your advocate), no matter what decisions you make or how you give birth. Doulas, just like the rest of us, come from ALL walks of life! It's simply about finding someone you connect with, who you feel able to welcome into your birthing space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A cochrane review into continuous support from a woman in labour showed women were..
🤱More likely to have spontaneous vaginal births
💉Less likely to have any pain medication including epidurals⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😔 Less likely to have negative feelings about childbirth⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏥 Less likely to have instrumental births, and Cesareans⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⏱️ Likely to have a shorter labour by approx 40 minutes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😞 Less likely to suffer from postnatal depression.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is NO evidence that having continuous support in labour has any negative outcomes 🤯 NONE!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
YIKES! So why don't we all have one? 🤔 For more info on doulas and the most wonderful and insightful chat about birth, listen to episode 1 of the birth-ed podcast!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Would you consider a doula?"

My experience with Holly was awesome, and overwhelming more than i expected When my wife and i found out we were having our first child we knew we needed emotional, physical, and educational help. So we started talking to doulas. We had many options to choose from but our first meeting with Holly was great. I left feeling comfortable and knowledgable. Throughout the nine months Holly made herself readily available. Most importantly during the birthday of my daughter Holly st ood by our side when the doctor wanted my wife to possibly have a caesarean section because our baby wasnt in the proper delivery position. That situation had gotten very emotional for us but Holly worked her magic and was able to turn my daughter into the proper position. At first i didnt understand the purpose of a doula and like most fathers i was against the whole idea. But im so grateful that Holly help my wife have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience. I happy to say that Holly is a new member of my family and we love her. https://bit.ly/35pmeS0

I first met Holly almost 8 years ago when I had my first daughter. During that time I struggled to produce milk and I had a longing to nurse my little one. Through Hollys guidance, and knowledge, she helped me through my production issues. Not only was I able to extend my breastfeeding, but through her, I was even able to donate over 200oz to a struggling mom. For someone coming from lack of production, to someone gifting another mom milk... all because of Holly. I again reached out to Holly for my new baby girl. In a matter of minutes Hollys expertise was evident. My struggles with latch were fixed Shes truly a wonder maker Our family couldnt do it without her as a guideWe recently engaged Holly again for help with digestion issues in my daughters and myself, along with help with my asthma. She is a wealth of knowledge and able to help with the correct supplements to naturally fix the issues. After our appointment I am hopeful and encouraged to be able to work my way from our medications into a more natural solution. Shes always there to provide her knowledge and expertise and Im excited to start getting better https://bit.ly/2CRbTlM

My experience with Birthing Tree was top notch from start to finish. From the very beginning of my pregnancy Holly worked diligently with me to make sure I had all the supplements and nutrition advice to maintain a healthy pregnancy. This was very important for me to have this guidance as I'm a full time workingtraveling mom. The support the team gave throughout the pregnancy eliminated unnecessary stress especially as it pertained to uncovering and understanding thingsissues that would arise at doctors visits. It gave me peace of mind and also helped me to strategize when necessary for upcoming doctors visits and staying on track with my all natural delivery desires. I planned for an all natural labor and delivery which was the main reason I opted for doula support from the start. Things turned at the end and I had to be induced which lead to the decision to use the epidural and have my water broken, not the natural way I planned. I was heartbroken but Holly and the Birthing Tree team really came through for me during a very challenging labor and delivery. There is no way I could've persevered if i didn't have the support the Birthing Tree team provided. My doctor even commented that the only reason I avoided C-Section was because of the support I had with my doula team. With all this said, no matter what your pregnancydelivery wishes may be, the Birthing Tree team can help you stay on track and have a wonderful Birthing experience no matter what curve balls may or may not be thrown your way during the process. I'm so thankful and blessed to have these ladies to have been a part of my journey. https://bit.ly/36srJmX

Caitlin did an amazing job during our sons birth and I really don't think I could have had the natural birth I wanted without her guidance. Things were moving slow and with Caitlin's help the baby change positions and I was able to have a quick active labor. Without Caitlin I would not have had the empowering experience of a natural birth. Holly did my placenta encapsulation. She had a very quick turn around time and they have helped me immensely during postpartum. Thank you Caitlin and Holly https://bit.ly/35pmeS0
