I would highly recommend Birthing Tree Holly was so helpful during my pregnancy, throughout my delivery, and upon my return home from the hospital. She was so caring and compassionate and was there for me with advice, recommendations, and encouragement She encapsulated my placenta, which has been very helpful for my postpartum needs. Holly made the whole process of obtaining my placenta and delivering my capsules very easy https://bit.ly/2CRbTlM

❤️Be considerate! ❤️Kind is the new cool!
❤️Be considerate!
❤️Kind is the new cool!

“stop scaring new moms. there, I said what I said π€·πΌ♀️
when I was pregnant + then during those early newborn days, I got a lot of questions about how we were doing. considering that we had waited YEARS to have this experience, my answer was typically upbeat with a positive outlook. which maybe shocked people? I honestly don’t know, because then I’d be showered with warnings in the form of “you just wait.”
can we talk about those three words for a second? because that’s a powerful start to a sentence + I feel like the follow up is just as important- what should I be waiting for?
here’s the thing: the follow up part of that sentence has the ability to either scare or build up a new mom. let’s face it, becoming a mom is SCARY. there’s no rule book, no guidelines, + no reset button for when the baby is screaming.
so why the added scare tactic? why do we feel the need to spook new moms even more? maybe instead of warning them for the hardships (which we already know will come), let’s build them up!
so instead of saying:
❌ “you just wait until they’re up every two hours!”
❌ “you just wait until they’re screaming in your ear!”
❌ “you just wait until you’re sleep deprived!”
❌ “you just wait until ____”
try this instead:
✔️ “call me when you need to vent.”
✔️ “I know those newborn days can be a little hard, can I send you coffee or lunch?”
✔️ “just wait until your baby smiles! it’s magical.”
✔️ “some days can be challenging, but I want you to know that I’m here for you.”
please understand that I’m not shaming you if you’ve ever said something like this. heck, I’m sure I’ve fallen victim to it, too. but I believe in change!
and it all starts with supporting a new mom in a positive way vs. scaring her from your personal experience. I understand that something during motherhood may have been difficult or stressful for you, but that doesn’t mean it will be the same for everyone.
people relentlessly warned me about the sleepless nights, but to be honest with you- I LOVED them + now that they’re gone, I miss them terribly.
mamas! what’s something people “warned” you about that ended up being a positive experience for you?” - @stephaneeneee

❤️Thank you Robert Thomson Jr, DC for helping out sweet baby E with her torticollis issue from birth. She left Dr. Rob’s office much more centered and resting peacefully!
π₯°Babies often exhibit symptoms of torticollis early in life based on positioning in the womb. If you’re noticing your baby is favoring one side of their head over the other when in the car seat, while sleeping, or during a nursing session; there may be some degree of toricollis present.
☺️If you would like to address these concerns Dr Rob at https://drrobchiropractic.com/ is an excellent resource who we recommend for the whole family!
