🌟When Dr. Rob was away a couple of weekends ago we told you he was enhancing his skill set.

🤰We are happy to announce he is now Webster Certified!

🌟Dr. Rob has always provided prenatal care to women in our community, but now has more knowledge behind him to provide to families in our area.

🙋🏽‍♀️ If you’re wondering what Webster Technique is here is a brief description.

⭐️The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated.

Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (i.e., dystocia), caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. Correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia.

In 1931 Florida passed the first state midwifery licensing law.

The 1931 Florida Midwifery Law required “The control and licensing of midwifery for the protection of mothers at childbirth and authorizing the State Board of Health to make regulations therefore."

The law required that practicing midwives be at least 21 years old, be able to read the Manual for Midwives, be able to fill out birth certificates, "be clean and constantly show evidence in behavior and in home of habits of cleanliness," have attended, under supervision of a physician, at least fifteen cases of labor and delivery, possess a diploma from a school for midwives, and become licensed by the State Board of Health.

In 1931 about 1400 midwives (35% of the practicing midwives) became licensed. The majority of midwives trained were black and helped white, black, and Seminole indian mothers.
