Read this mamas!

Take it to heart❤️

A couple of weeks ago a child therapist that I know looked at my kids and said,

"You're such a good mom"

Feeling like a total fraud I blurted, "I don't feel like a good mom. The kids are driving me so crazy, I'm losing my temper and falling asleep at night wondering where I'm going to get the patience for another day"

To which she responded with a statement that I haven't been able to forget,

"Babies cry, it's how they communicate. Toddlers scream, children whinge and teenagers complain.
Then moms say the words 'for f#$& sake under their breath before ever responding. It's how we communicate.

But guess what Con? It's better than silence.

A house full of screaming kids and fighting teenagers and a parent who's being thrown every question and request is a healthy one to me.
It's the silent children, the scared toddlers, the teenagers that don't come home and the parents who aren't in communication with their children that I worry about.

And kids don't drive you crazy, you were crazy already. That's why you had them."

And just like that, I felt like a good parent again.

Deep breaths, you're doing a good job.

💗👑 Constance Hall.

This is why we educate and create a safe space for you to discuss all of your birth/labor questions.

Understanding your body before labor makes it much easier to explain why you would want specific positions throughout to facilitate the pelvis opening and allowing baby to descend!

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

Your work does not go un-noticed!

You are amazing!!!

Motherhood is work. Domestic work is work. Parenting is the work that makes all other work possible.

Breast milk is crucial; breastfeeding is food sovereignty. But it is not quite “free,” especially when we consider the time, effort, and troubleshooting involved. We need paid parental leave, a living wage, accurate breastfeeding support and info, and easy access to donor milk. We need our society to recognize parenting as the valuable work it is.

Image description: A tweet from Dr Kera Lovell, PhD that says “someone just told me she had spent roughly 4866 hours of her life breastfeeding and that breast milk is only free if we think of women’s* time, bodies, and carework as worthless.”

“There Is a Woman: 30, No Children.” A Staggering Article About How Blind We Can Be to Other’s Feelings

The families we work with struggling with infertility feel this often.

Be kind with your words you never know why “that woman doesn’t even have kids yet!”

Sometimes, we say words to other people that don’t mean much to us, just to avoid an awkward silence. Just to say something. And we have no idea how people will react to these words. Writer Nadirah Angail published a moving entry in her blog about how easy it is to hurt other people and not even n...

Ok Birthing Tree community!

We have a mom in need!!!

Hello! My (almost) 4 month old 💕
Sadie was a preemie born at 34 weeks 1 day @ 4 pounds 13 ounces . . . She has some digestive issues and does not take formula well. She spits most of it up & her tummy cramps.

She is THRIVING on breastmilk but due to a spotty diagnosis from a NICU doc, I was unable to breastfeed.

I am hoping to keep her on breastmilk until 6 months 🤞🏻 and have had some Awesome donors get us to this point

But my supply is running very low and I am in need of finding some new donors 💕 Any and All help us so appreciated!!

🙏✨❤️

Get it girl! Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Get it girl!

Can’t stop, won’t stop!

Nike dropped her for being pregnant. She came back with her c-section scar to flex on their asses—and she’s headed to the Olympics again (fifth time in a row, first time with her daughter outside the womb), this time wearing her OWN BRAND! I bow to the mighty power, beauty of this black woman.

It’s not your business

It’s not your home that is full and loud and has lots of love

It’s not your paycheck feeding them or buying them clothes

It’s not your responsibility to wipe their butts or buy their diapers

Don’t shame large families

Congratulate them on being freaking super heroes

I don’t see you wearing their shoes!

Why are people so weird about families having anything more than 2 kids these days? I remember when we started telling people we were pregnant with our 3rd, there was no real excitement for us from anybody but our close friends. There wasn’t much as far as “congratulations, we’re so happy for you!” goes. It was like - “…oh 😳”

We’re talking about #4 now and we get the most ridiculous reactions. There is no “oh my gosh that’s great!” and all “you REALLY want to have 4 kids? You already have your hands full.”

If you’re not financially supporting somebody’s family, if you’re not raising somebody’s kids, if you’re not actively a part of the day in and day out routine of someone’s family, you don’t get to say anything but “that’s exciting, congratulations and good luck!” and if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.

Every baby deserves to be loved and celebrated, and no pregnant mother wants to feel judged for the size of her family. Mind your business, mind your uterus. ✌🏼
