Last night I drove to a home where a laboring mom was working with her body to bring her baby Earthside. I was greeted with love and anticipation by mom, dad, siblings, and 2 amazing midwives. As we all worked together to attend the needs of mom in different ways I was shown again why I am passionate about what I do To see a mother so strong, so brave, so courageous, so tired, so ready allowing herself to be vulnerable to birth and to the process of letting go To see the love, the concern, gentle touch, tiny kisses, and one handed massage from a wee little sleepy sister To see a father who can only comprehend what he sees his wife battling through but to not know the pains, to have him guide and walk through his fatherhood journey alongside his wife all the while encouraging her and leading her It’s a joyous occasion. One that no two are ever the same! Thank you for sharing you your home with me, your life with me and all of your babies with me!
